This is just a quickie post. A shout out to all of my author friends out there…
I Was sat messaging an author friend of mine a few weeks back, as you do. Bouncing ideas off from one another, when Karen said… “instead of chatting here, and keeping all these yummy ideas to ourselves, why don’t we set up an author street team?”
After a little mulling over, some more chatting, and thinking would anyone be interested we did it,. We have been very original and called it Authors’ street team…. At the moment it is a very select group of very different writers. By that I mean our genres, age, and even where we live vary. If you were to snap me like a rock, you would read Paranormal Romance deep into my centre. With Karen she is Romantic histories. I will be a sweetie and share a couple of links later on if I have peaked your curiosity about our team.
Anyway. I digress. So we have set up our street team over on Facebook and so far it has been great. With the other members joining, there’s a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips. We also have a group chat that any member can join as well. Although we do tend to stick to the posts for chatting. But if someone needs a general chat there is always someone there to lend an ear.
We tend to share most days. As of this Friday we will be doing a sort of role call so that all members stay active. There is no spamming allowed. Yes I have actually closed a group I had before because of the drop and run posts. So if you only belong to groups to pimp yourself then this isn’t the group for you. Yes some of us are forthright, a few are very quiet, but we all get on and help out wherever possible. So if I have peaked your interest and you are thinking, I would love to chat to other authors.
